Baleària Canarias applies different allowances and discounts depending on the type of passenger, provided they are indicated at the time of booking and the corresponding supporting documentation is presented when requested.
What are allowances?
Allowances are discounts applied to the ticket fare for certain passengers, such as residents, large families, children, babies, or groups with specific agreements.
To benefit from an allowance, you must select or communicate it during the booking. Additionally, you must present the documentation that proves your right to the discount to the ground staff when the boarding pass is issued or validated.
Types of allowances and discounts
- General fare: fare without resident discount.
- Babies: babies can travel for free but must always be included in the booking. They do not have the right to occupy a seat. The age considered as a baby may vary depending on the route.
- Children: 50% discount on the adult fare.
- Residents: 75% allowance on the applicable ticket fare.
- Military personnel: 50% or 40% discount on the applicable fare, depending on the current agreement with each branch of the armed forces.
- General large family: 20% discount on the applicable fare.
- Special large family: 50% discount on the applicable fare.
- Non-resident with large family: general fare with large family discount, in accordance with current regulations.
- Resident with large family: fare with resident allowance and large family discount, when both benefits are applicable.
Required documentation
To apply any allowance, you must present official documentation proving your beneficiary status. This documentation may include, depending on the case:
- Valid identity document.
- Certificate or proof of residence.
- Official large family certificate.
- Document proving entitlement to discount for the specific group.
Important before travelling
If the allowance has not been correctly indicated during booking or you cannot prove your right to the discount when requested, the discounted fare may not be applied.
