What are the requirements for travelling with minors?

Minors must meet specific identification requirements and, in some cases, authorisation.

Documentation

  • Minors must carry documentation that proves their identity:
    • Valid ID card or passport, if they have one and depending on the destination.
    • If the minor does not have an ID card, they may present the Family Book, if they have one, or the birth certificate.

Accompaniment
They must travel with:

  • Parents/legal guardians, or
  • An authorised adult

Authorisation

If the minor travels alone or with an adult other than their parents, it may be necessary to provide:

  • Authorisation signed by parents/guardians
  • Additional documentation according to current regulations
